Just to back this up a little through first hand experience, volunteering for animal rescues has made me a much happier person. It’s a lot of work, but is a very rewarding experience, and I encourage everyone to get out there and lend a hand. Not just for the animals’ benefit, but for yours as well. Pets have gotten unfairly underrated, and there’s so much we can learn from them. No matter what your beliefs are, where you’re from, how old you are, or what you’ve been through, connecting with animals will remain one of the most effective treatments for battling depression.
